Nicaraguan-American artist Dagmar Zuniga creates music that feels both intimate and immersive: dreamy compositions filled with layered harmonies, tape textures, and a strong sense of atmosphere. Her debut album filth your mystery is kingdom / far smile peasant in yellow music was crafted over five years on a Tascam 424, recorded between New York, Norway, and Athens, Georgia. Following its independent release in early 2025, the album became an online cult favorite, garnering over 200,000 streams and catching the attention of artists like Mount Eerie, who invited her to support their summer tour.
Zuniga began recording on tape as a teenager and has since built a unique artistic universe, creating her own artwork, videos, and merchandise alongside her music. Her ethereal sound, influenced by both psychedelic folk and the darker edges of Syd Barrett and The Fall, explores themes of loneliness, connection, and empathy. With a monthly show on NTS Radio, performances at festivals like Rewire, and collaborations with artists such as Zach Phillips (Fievel Is Glauque), her world continues to grow, while her music invites reflection, comfort, and connection.
