Poetic lyrics and immersive guitars come together in songs that blend carefully crafted songwriting with heartfelt indie rock from Edinburgh, in the vein of bands like Frightened Rabbit, Snow Patrol, The National, We Were Promised Jetpacks, and Idlewild. A growing following in Scotland, the UK, Europe, and the United States has propelled the band to new heights, with sold-out headline shows at the famous Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom and the iconic Usher Hall in Edinburgh, where wrest stormed some of the biggest stages in their homeland.
A growing international audience is taking wrest to new stages; no longer the best-kept secret in the indie rock scene. The 2024 release of the album Everything’s Nothing Forever Again saw the band reach new heights on Spotify, attracting legions of dedicated new fans from further afield.
With a string of sold-out headline shows in Germany and the Netherlands behind them, as well as upcoming tour plans for Australia and the US, wrest is poised for larger stages around the world as one of Scotland’s most promising independent breakthrough acts.
