Head of Hospitality

‍We are looking for a new Head of Hospitality for Tolbar. The position will be available starting November 1st.

Tolbar is the living room of Cinetol. It is an accessible café with friendly service, a vegetarian menu, and a close-knit team. From here, all hospitality aspects are managed for the more than 275 concerts and other events that take place at Cinetol annually. It is up to the Head of Hospitality to keep everything in balance, from concerts and drinks to maintaining a café where a diverse range of people feel welcome.
 
We are looking for someone with a passion for hospitality who enjoys working in a cultural and creative environment. As Head of Hospitality, you will lead a team of over 20 people. You will be on the floor yourself to ensure proper coordination, while also having office hours to manage the organization. You know what is required for efficient operations and how to keep the venue accessible.
 
You are someone who enjoys taking responsibility within a cultural organization and has extensive experience in the hospitality industry. It is a plus if you are a fan of (live) music or have worked in a similar venue. There is always something happening in the building, and the Head of Hospitality acts as the connector between everything happening on the floor, from the bar and kitchen to production and programming.
 
You will report directly to the two founders, manage the team of bar leads, and work closely with the chef. Additionally, you are part of the core team, which means you will also collaborate frequently with Cinetol's programmer, marketer, and production manager.
 
This is a 32-hour-per-week position.

Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

* Daily operations and managing the team on the floor.
* Scheduling: You create the schedule for the bar, while the chef creates the schedule for the kitchen. It is your responsibility to check the schedule every week for accuracy: how many tickets have been sold per concert, how many drinks and other events are on the agenda, what the weather forecast is, etc.
* Human Resources: Hiring, training, and managing staff, as well as the associated administration.
* Bar management: Ensuring equipment is well-maintained, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing them in a timely manner.
* Managing reservations and drink inquiries.
* Coordinating all catering and hospitality matters related to concerts, meetings, and other gatherings held in the building with the production staff.
* Contributing ideas for general bar improvements, such as the layout, menu, and product range.

Qualifications

‍
* You have several years of demonstrable experience in the hospitality industry;
* You have experience as a floor manager, shift leader, business manager, or other leadership role;
* You have a strong sense of responsibility;
* You are hospitable and social;
* You are flexible and available to work, including evenings and weekends;
* You are stress-resistant and able to maintain an overview during peak hours;
* An affinity for music and culture is a plus;
