Songwriters Victoria Rose and Stone Filipczak form @, an avant-garde songwriting project born out of the East Coast D.I.Y. music scene. Although they initially collaborated remotely, without ever having performed live or even sung in the same room together, their debut album Mind Palace Music found an unexpectedly large audience via the internet. In the years that followed, @ grew into an impressive live band, with Victoria and Stone developing a unique musical chemistry, both on and off stage.

‍

WithAutosmile, their first album for 4AD, sees @ reinventing psychedelic folk as a distinctly contemporary art form. Working from a process where each writes songs individually and then complements the other's compositions, they created an album that balances beauty and pain, darkness and playfulness. With adventurous arrangements and inventive songwriting, @ explores on Autosmile the inner and outer world with curiosity, wonder, and no fear of the dramatic or the comedic.

Ellie O'Neill

‍

Ellie O’Neill is an Irish singer-songwriter from County Meath whose music paints a rich and tender landscape centered on intimacy, loss, friendship, and queer identity. Using primarily her voice and acoustic guitar, she moves between meditative, repetitive songs and raw, powerful, grunge-inflected confessions. Her work is not about one grand revelation, but unfolds as a collection of memories and dreams, in which she explores what should be kept and what can be let go. O’Neill weaves personal experiences with dreamy and sometimes esoteric symbolism, where repetition becomes a form of truth-telling and love and grief constantly coexist. Her music also reflects her personal discovery of her queer identity during a period of major social change in Ireland, including the legalization of same-sex marriage and the repeal of the abortion ban. Many of her lyrics are based directly on memories and conversations from her life, with songwriting becoming a way for her to reclaim her own story.

‍

In recent years, she has toured extensively throughout Ireland and the UK, both solo and alongside other artists, and has performed at festivals and venues such as Pitchfork London, Other Voices, End of the Road, and Green Man. She has also supported Adrianne Lenker and John Francis Flynn and was named one of the Artists to Watch by The Irish Times in 2025. O’Neill now lives in Dublin, where she finds inspiration in, among other things, the poetry of Minnie Bruce Pratt, laughter, and swimming in the sea. Her debut album, Time of Fallow, was released on March 20.
